Is Our Economy in Trouble?

Published by shannoninsc under Economy Edit This

1010147_money_glass.jpgIt seems that almost everyone I speak with these days are either looking for a job, or they know of someone who is looking. It’s really kind of scary where our economy is leading. Not only are gas prices rising, but groceries as well. As I was leaving the grocery store just yesterday, I pulled out my receipt, looked at it for a minute, looked at the few items of groceries in the cart and just shook my head. I have no idea how some are surviving.

Personally, the rise in gas prices have scared me enough to take a step back and ask myself, “Okay, do I really need to go here?” Pretty sad when you think about it. I’ve even found myself putting groceries back on the shelf after contemplating whether or not I really needed that item.

Luckily for me, I live smack dab in the middle of Charleston so getting from place to place really doesn’t take all that long. It’s those places that I just can’t stay away from that will get me in trouble - such as the beach! Guess I will be rethinking driving 25 minutes just to bask in the sun and swim in the ocean.

We have a few ”piggy banks” around the house and I find myself dropping more and more money that I find on the floor or in my pocket, in to these make shift banks. I keep thinking that maybe one day I will put it to good use. You never know, I may have to take the time to roll the quarters, nickels and dimes just to pay my electric bill by the end of the summer. Hope not though!
